On 28th Nov., which was just before the 32nd World AIDS Awareness Day, teachers and students from the School of Public Health and the School Hospital of Southeast University carried out a public welfare activity inthree campuses including Jiulong Lake, Sipailou and Dingjiaqiao, focusing on this year's theme - Communities make the difference.
During the activity, students learned about HIV prevention and testing methods in the Q&A section; they scanned videos on WeChat to understand the current status of HIV; they cut out their own red ribbons to express their care and attention for the HIV / AIDS patients. At the same time, the volunteers conducted random interviews with the students participating in the on-site activities to learn about their experience.
This activity attracted thousands of students, and played a significant role in enhancing their self-protection awareness and improving their related knowledge about HIV prevention and control. What’s more, teachers and students were mobilized to spread knowledge of HIV / AIDS prevention to families and the society. They urged all members of the society to prevent AIDS scientifically, e.g., taking active detection and accepting AIDS patients, and thus moving towards “zero” HIV / AIDS to share health among the entire population.
