The Double Ninth Festival (also known as Chongyang Festival or Seniors' Day), is an annual festival in Chinese culture to show respect to the seniors, fallen on the ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese traditional lunar calendar every year. To celebrate this festival, on the day of Oct 17th 2018, the School of Public Health invited more than 20 retired teachers to return to the school and attend a tea party. The schools Secretary, Dr Tao LI, and the Director of Retired Staff Association, Dr Jianxin GONG, presented the welcome speeches respectively. The Dean of school, Prof Lihong YIN, introduced the achievements and development of the school over the past year. They all expressed gratitude to the retired teachers for their previous contributions to the schools development. They also hope that the retired teachers can come back home often, and sincerely wish that they live a happy and fulfilled, long and healthy life. Afterwards, conversations flowed freely among the retired teachers. The retired seniors reminisced about the past together, and offered valuable suggestions for the schools further development. This event provided a rare opportunity for the retired teachers to gather with their colleagues and friends, and also a good opportunity for the school to obtain valuable comments for promoting its construction and development.
