Course Introduction:
Biostatistics courses are about research design, data collecting, analysis, and interpretation combining special knowledge. Biostatistics1 Introduces methods and concepts of statistical analysis and sampling, with special attention to those occurring in biological sciences. Topics include descriptive measures, Probability and distributions, estimation, tests of hypotheses, types of error, significance, confidence levels, sample size and power. Most lectures will be followed by a discussion session. This is a 3 credits course.
