Dr. Wu’s primary research area is the nanotoxicology, immunotoxicology and neurotoxicology. She mainly focuses on the neurotoxic effects of quantum dots and the potential mechanisms of quantum dots causing these adverse effects on cultured cells and living animals. Currently, Dr. Wu is the PI of one grant funded by the Provincial Natural Science Funds of Jiangsu, and is participating in three grants funded by the National Natural Science Funds of China. Recent Research Project: 1. The role of NLRP3 inflammasome activation in the inflammatory responses to quantum dots in the central nervous system 2. The toxic effects and mechanisms of CdTe quantum dots on the hippocampus of rats 3. Study on the neurotoxicity mechanism of cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots to microglial cell based on the metabolomics The role of eNOS uncoupling mediated by NOX1 and mtROS in cardiovascular toxicity in response to PM2.5 | ||||
